Hi - my name is Steve and I've been reading the forum since getting my 2011 Repsol in March last year. I thought it was about time to formally join in. I've only been riding two and a half years - I moved up from an SV650 to a 2007 750 gixxer and on to the Blade last year. No need to ask which the best bike of the 3 LOL is.

I get out most weekends usually into Wales as it's the only sensible direction to go for nice quiet roads.

The Blade has a Leo Vince GP Pro slip and I recently fitted PCV. I'm still playing around with maps and also considering a custom map. I fitted some short ASV levers which I had on the gixxer and the local Honda dealer fitted the hugger, rad guard and no cut crash bungs for me. I have a few R&G bits and pieces and I’ve got a high screen to fit when the weather warms up.

I’ll post a photo once I’ve figured out how - Cheers for now - Steve.

Welcome to the forum, glad you finally joined us, the bike sounds lush, go for a custom map its the only way you know for sure that it's all set up perfectly, what's the point in spending the money on a can and pcv and not having it running properly, you will not regret it :)

Thanks for the welcome guys - hopefully here is a photo of the bike as requested,

I agree about the custom map it's probably the way to go. I'm running a map from the Dyno Jet site at the moment which is setup for a Leo Vince slip on. I've also just loaded a map from a guy in the US called Jeffo. He has a web site www.faic.cc and he writes custom maps without the dyno!!! Please don't discount him until you have read the comments from people who use his maps. As I said I've loaded the map and will try it once the frost has cleared tomorrow. The Dyno Jet map is much better than stock and makes the bike so much less on and off the throttle in low speed traffic. I'm hoping for another improvement from Jeffo's map.

The only problem with any sort of map that's not specifically designed with your bike in mind is every engine is different. They are all bedded in differently and give out slightly different figures.

I'm guessing his maps are better than the ones you download off the yoshi/akra/Leo or pcv web sites but the best best results are getting it you bike strapped to the Dyno, but you gotta find a Dyno man you trust also lol.

    Your bike looks stunning Steve!

P.S do you take a pillion out with you?

Thanks for the comment on the bike - it does generate interest when parked up. I was going to get the HRC colours but after the first Moto GP race last year under the floodlights I had to have a Repsol. They looked stunning under the lights.

We have a dyno about 7 miles away and he is a recognised Dyno Jet tuner but I don't know anyone who has had a map done with him. He only charges £100 but without some feedback who knows if he is anygood. He does cars mainly from what I can gather. The next nearest place where I have had good feedback is at Mallory Park. They are a little bit more expensive but come highly recommended by my local Honda dealer. Either way my back tyre is too new to wreck just yet on a dyno so for the time being one of these 2 maps will suffice.
