Thanks for the info Benn - I notice a guy from Brum had posted a PCV custom map on the US 1000RR forum which was done at your mates place. He was running a Taylor Made exhaust on a 2009 Blade. I'll have a look at Kev's web site as Cradley is pretty close. Steve
It's the sort of place I'd ride to just to see what he's got in what he's doing n generally talk bikes!
Hello and welcome Steve I've got the Leo Vince, just fitted R&G aeros just about to order AVS Gold regulars and hopin' to get a PCv and custom map in the spring! Would be good to hear how you get on with your maps. Cheers Trev
Hi Trev - I really like the Leo Vince and to be honest the bike ran quite well before fitting the PCV. I've ridden it for about 6 hours now on the Dyno Jet map for the exhaust (baffle fitted) and it is a massive improvement at low speed on and off throttle. It does make for a smoother ride in traffic. I didn't notice much difference at speed as the damn thing is so fast in any case. I tried the map from the guy in the US for about an hour on Sunday and didn't think the low speed running was quite as good but I need a bit more time riding it with this map. I still can feel a slight flat spot at around 4000 revs but I'm sure that can be improved. I've got a collection of maps now to try out - Leo Vince do there own maps for their version of the PVC called a Fast 2. I managed to get the map data so you could use it to write a map for the PCV. I'm just amazed how well the bike runs on any of these maps. Do you have any baffle fitted in your Leo Vince? I guess if you want the ultimate map a custom map is the only way to go but this is not all about HP - I'm happy to loose a couple of HP at the top end for a smoother more torquey ride. I'll keep you posted. Steve
Hi Steve, yeah the Leo Vince is awesome! I was impatient tho Steve i bought my L.V form the USA & paid thru the nose for it and fitted as soon as i got the bike but mine came with 2 baffles a small diameter and a larger one I've never run it with a PCV but I've run it with both baffles, there's little difference between them apart from the volume the big one sound amazing but i tried it without any WOW what a sound but it was like the bike was runnin on mule piss and the rev counter needle at idle was dancing like Michael Flatley on speed!! Really shitty i dono if that was down to fueling or lack of back pressure? But I'm gona get the map selection switch with my PCV so i can get a couple of maps maybe with/without baffles maps or a touring/power maps! The trouble is i bought the bike in Newcastle on the 1st Oct 11, I rode it home totally standard then fitted the exhaust got about 3 weeks of riding it in shitty weather before tucking up for winter since then i fitted a K&N air filter which makes it sound a bit throatier so I've hav'nt had much time to play! what with the weather up here, rain & greasy roads before it was garaged! Boo hoo!!! Roll on better days!!! Cheers Trev.
