Some people are such anuses when it comes to profiteering. Look at this tool set for £879.00: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-RC...=item3fb3c6b6db:g:ciIAAOSwgVJb~sTD:rk:12:pf:0
Not so sure about that. Our fellow member of the HRC Appreciation Society, namely one @PauloHRC could be a walk up start. I can see him now, scavenging on nappies and formula just to put a few pennies aside!
Can’t see where the exploitation is. No one is forced to bid on it, and if they do, then it’s their call how much they are prepared to pay, it’s called being in a free market.
Yeah, I accept your view KB, but with respect, I look at it from the angle that if, say, John Smith, recently purchased an RC30 without a tool kit, and he wanted to return the bike to original condition, he is presented with a price that far exceeds what a 'reasonable person' would expect to pay. Sure, he is not forced to buy it, but he would feel (as would I) damn annoyed that the seller seeks extravagant profit from an item he may well have pulled from a wreck or former race bike. The worst case scenario would be that the tool kit actually originated from the very bike that 'John Smith' now owns.
Straw poll then Nige Hands up on here who would happly sell a tool kit for 50 quid instead of 900 quid so they could makes John Smiths RC30 even more of a rip off price than it already is? My hands are in my pockets
I'll put my hand up. I wouldn't exploit anybody like that. See it all the time with ticket totes or kids toys around christmas. Some people will gladly profit like that, I couldn't do it.
if someone wants to pay that price, that’s on them. Personally, I’d likely give it away. I need all the good will I can muster, being damned to hell and all that.
I'm with @Kentblade on this...nobody's forcing anyone to buy it, and let's face it...is it any different to say a tee shirt that probably cost £12 to make but with a designer name it's £600! World's full of doofs daft enought to part with their money...leave em to it I reckon
Yes, I respectfully submit that it's vastly different. The T-shirt is an item of its own standing, whereas the aforementioned toolkit is an accompaniment or severed from and/or belonging to a 'parent' item. If we are to use clothing as an analogy, it would akin to marking up a pair of shoe laces to £600 that originally belonged to a £12 pair of shoes! No argument that the world is full of doofs for I have paid some over-the-top prices for parts/accessories, though not to the heights of this particular tool kit. One thing this has taught me though, if or when I finally find an RC 30 to my liking, I'll be damn sure to check for its tool roll!
No way. I think you might know that I don't believe in them. We are all different, but if I have an opposite opinion I would rather explain it rather than conclude a discussion with a 'Downvote' button. Plus, you went to the effort of producing your view, why should that be crushed with a non-explanative reply? In the final analysis though, I respect your ulterior motive for the suggestion. Quite obviously, you wish to topple me from the peak of the Negative Ratings list - a position I once abhorred but now relish!!
