It has indeed mate. Got it for a good price so no complaints from me.

It'll be a lot worse by the time I'm finished with it no doubt :)

Ok it's been a while and not much progress lately as been busy lately with work and other commitments.

Managed to get out to the garage for a couple of hours today and got the shock spring changed over on the K-Tech and fitted.

Old spring out and ready for sale

K-Tech DDS shock fitted and looking good.

Just need to russle up a small bracket for the preload adjuster to bolt onto.

Also drilled the holes in the clip-ons for the switch gear and got everything comfy and in position for me.

Got the quickshifter and gear shift rod test fitted ready to get the settings put into it.

So next up is to change over the front cartridge springs and give the forks a service while I'm at it. Put new fluid in the front master cylinder and bleed the brakes and get it all bolted back together.

What rear shock is that Colin and how good are you with suspension set up?

It's the DDS race unit Matt.

As for suspension setup it's easy enough to set the sag and get a general feel for the damping off the bike, but it'll be once I get on track and put some laps in that I'll be able to feel what it needs from there.

It'll probably take me a full day on track to get it where I want, so may see about getting some help for a decent base setting at track rather than fiddling around with it for the full track day.

Ok so it's been a while since last update.

So where am I with the bike since last time?

I managed to get to the springs in the fork cartridge kit only to find that the springs are already for my weight, so just buttoned those back up. Love it when things go easy for a change (don't worry I'll soon be made to make up for this). From there went ahead and set the sag front and rear.

Also managed to sell my Castrol fairings to then pick up a set of crc's in black.

A bit plain at the moment but I'll soon add some decals to it. I've got them fitting easily so happy with that. I'll take more pics once it's finished.

This weekend it was all about using the Woolich Racing ECU flashing kit and having it setup to HRC spec.

Managed that without too many issues. So time to fire it up.

Fired it up and by fook there is a racket coming from my engine. Oh no :(

First train of thought was to put the original map back in, but even then the racket was still there.

Turned out to be the camchain tensioner had failed. Weird as it was fine beforehand. Anyway I had 1 spare from the other engine. Popped that in and flashed the ECU back to HRC spec.

Fired it up and it's sounding as sweet as. Woohoo.

I'm the same mate. Sounds really nice with the new map and Defo has a more urgent snap to the throttle.

    Donny here we come :)

The Woolich Kit is amazing mate.
Really is a step above the likes of a PCV.

Not only does it deal with the fuelling (across both fuel rails) but you can also advance the timing amongst other things.

It also gives you the ability to read fault codes in the ECU and reset them if need be (or find out what is wrong if there is an issue)

You can also adjust the temperature that the fan kicks in. Which is handy if you have a track bike and want to get it coming on quicker than standard.

These are just a few things it can do. Makes total sense to me to go down this route.

Woolich kit also allows you to disable the ecu fault warnings with the exhaust servo and the lambda probe, so no need for extra equipment to be fitted like the servo buddy or o2 eliminator!

Oh an Col you still owe me for a top quality ikea spanner that I had to destroy today in order to make a Honda replica cam tensioner tool! :D

James are you gony be at Oulton on Friday the 25th of this month for race weekend?

We are heading to Donny on the 24th and meeting up with the Kent massive for some fun on track and no doubt good laugh in the garages too then traveling up to Oulton then spending some time on Friday seeing the pros getting set up for some racing before heading back up the road! ;)

Are you going to check it on a Dyno as fuelling and ignition will be way different with 13.5 comp Pistons, head work and revised can timing.
Fuelling is one thing but ignition can det and wreck all your hard work in a moment?
Be nice to see some figures for your hard work too?

I'm doing the test day on Wednesday 23rd March then the race days 25/26th at Oulton. I was thinking of staying up north. But if there's a few a Donington I'll go home Wednesday and be pit bitch if you want for the trackday.:D

I'm going to be running an Autotune with the HRC map and get it fine tuned at track.

Yes it would be good to get it onto a Dyno to see what it's putting out. I'll be doing that after Donny though as I'm skint at the moment.
