After having survived 4 years without a wrist watch, I decided it was time to get a new one. Since I have discovered a new passion for the best colour around, I picked this one- a large well known High Street retailer is selling them at an affordable special offer price at the moment. I should get mine tomorrow: Horses for courses of course! So, here the version for the discerning Kwak community: Other than good looks these also sport the Eco-Drive technology meaning they charge through any ambient light, no more battery changes, yippee! And, of course, these feature scratch proof mineral glass and are waterproof up to 100m/330ft. Should last me another 10 years!

You mean, this price? Citizen Eco-Drive Primo Men's Black Ion-Plated Strap Watch- H. Samuel the Jeweller
I paid £123.- (free delivery) which is a special offer I think- limited availability: Citizen Eco-Drive Primo Men's Black Ion-Plated Strap Watch- H. Samuel the Jeweller
If I was 100m under water the last thing I would be worried about would be whether my watch was leaking.
If you were a scuba diver however you would appreciate the certainty of your watch not dying from water ingress while you are 40 ft under. I don't go diving much these days anymore, but not having to worry about my watch while getting soaked on the bike in a downpour for an hour or so (it happens all the time in the UK ), going for a swim or simply washing my hands is a distinct benefit regardless
I've had citizen watches for a while now and most of them Eco drive all I have to do is twist the date on when it's a short month, my diver watch is still going strong 20years later with a couple of battery changes
I got my Citizen Primo today and I really like it. Never had a Citizen before, but I have seen a lot of positive feedback for many of them. My last watch was a Tissot which lasted me 15 years, let's see if the Citizen can match that
Taken from Citizen's web site- it will last the lifetime of the watch (I know- how long is a piece of string, and what colour is it ...(I know mine is orange lol)) but assuming a quality watch (not referring to the big brands such as Oris, Omega, Hublot, Breitling etc. which are likely very good and knowingly very expensive) would hopefully last at least 7 - 10 years: http://www.citizenwatch.com/en-uk/faq-category/eco-drive/ Q: How is energy stored in my Eco-Drive? A: A special Eco-Drive energy storage cell is used to store the electricity from the converted light energy. The high quality of the cell precludes it from being affected from the regular charge/discharge cycle as with an ordinary battery. With normal care and exposure to light, the owner can be assured of a lifetime of reliable and trouble free power. As an added benefit to the environment, the energy cell contains none of the chemicals used in ordinary watch batteries. This is my first Citizen so I can't provide any experience based info, but perhaps someone else on this forum can
I too love all things orange although I haven't got a repsol everything else in my life is Even my dog is a sort of orange
