probably showing my naivety ..... but.... wavey discs

whats the thinking behind them ?
are they worth fitting to your bike instead of replacement oe discs ?
which brand to go for ebc, talon, armstrong etc etc , internet browsing brings up lots of discussion on Galfer discs warping ?
which replacement brake pads to use?
any issues fitting wavey discs to ABS model bikes ?

    thank you :)

i had these on my previous blade, had the galfers first (brilliant bite but terrible in the end had to get rid of them) then i replaced them with armstrong which were surprising good for the money. sold the bike with them on and had no problems with them.
i dont reckon there any different to others beside looking different imo

Meant to be a moto cross inspired thing I have been told. To clear mud better. And look funky really. Brembo rule the braking world and u don't see them using wavy. Although I think galfer are good for the money

Spoke to the dudes at PDQ about this a while back as wanted to change the discs on my ABS (became warped), they pretty much echo what Scott said. Derived from MX to help clear the crud, don't see them in brembos range or even in bike racing etc. They even added that some peeps used to use waveys to reduce the ferociousness of braking!(all this is their opinion of course!!!)

Waveys will be by nature lighter so reduce both rotational and unstrung mass. Also in road use where there is a lot more crud the design perhaps has an advantage at cleaning the pads.

In the end I didn't need to upgrade as the 'warpness' was fixed by cleaning the buttons, but if I did change OEMS are way too pricy! I would probably get the Brembo HPK version for my ABS. As long as it is tapped for the sensor ring shouldn't be a issue fitting any decent set of discs to an ABS equipped Blade.
