I don't think I'd have paid extra for HD either, Ken. They just happened to be in HD because of the XL TV package.

Just phoned Virgin, £13 extra for XL TV package which includes all channels, or £17 for new Tivo but its the £50 installation fee which is the killer...

Or £15 monthly subcription to BT sports alone which I can cancel after the season... Not interested in football or any other sport.

Ahh, when I registered for it as 'free' to BT and Sky HD package customers, it went all the way through the process and then said '£3.99' a month, causing me to do a double take. A new, murdochensian concept of the term 'free'. That's when I saw the small print about it being 'free' to Sky HD customers.......but not in HD...

They did the Tivo installation for half price for me...£25.

Did you ask about the line saver?

I'd ask to be put through to the cancellation department and explain the problem to them. ie that you can get the channels you want from BT for less. I'm sure they'll do something to jig your bill around.

You have to order it from BT, Kevin. It's free to BT Broadband customers or £12 a month if you're not.

Very nearly gave in and paid the £12pm, but then work said my contract is ending in 4 weeks as they have ran out of budget, so I am having to go into penny scrimping mode until I sort a new one.

I looked on virgin website and upgraded to Tivo and wasnt any installation fee there.. So called them up and told them this and she said thats wrong should be an installation fee. Anyway so ordered it online and have an email confirmation saying there is no fee.. If they now try and charge me I can prove it should be free!! Going to miss this weekends racing though :(

Is any you guys using the app? I've got a 42 second delay on the app with the live feeds!!... it's shite if that's the case! It's not exactly live is it!
Feck me 42 seconds is a year of a difference when it come to live action!
So basically makes the option pointless! ''If it's too good to be true it often is'' as the saying goes:(
