    Hey all,

Just joined as I have just placed a deposit on an 09 RR-8 in winning red which should be with me by Friday. Just sold a very clean and sorted Gixer 1000 K5 so this bike really has to measure up but looking around the net I don't think i have much to worry about bar the oil consumption, so hi all and please be gentle with me. :)

Hi Lyn and welcome to the forum. I have a 08 and never had any oil issues from new. Not all 08's are the same, I would just ride it and keep an eye on the levels for the first couple.

    Pics I can do.

Here's the K5, mega clean and oh so nice to ride. Complete animal especially when it was +2 on the rear with PCIII, Scorpion Tagma, RR-10 mono block callipers QA throttle and more that I forget.

Here's the new one, not quite as mint as it looks due to being used I suspect in most weather. The rear wheel needs powder coating, new chain required which the dealer is fitting and just a general clean up required inside the fairings etc. My K5 was worse when I got it so this'll be no problem. I got good deal on it, 10k miles and 1 owner so theres a little money in it for me to play with it.

I already have a brand new Annitori strain gauge QS which I got for the K5 which was then replaced by HM as it was faulty so hopefully it'll be good to go on the RR-8 as the looms are there same, just a shift rod to get. I like the look of the can and I am in no rush to power commander it. Just have to sort a few bits out for her now to get it as I want it.

I know the K5 midrange was it's forte but were all getting older and I'm not as fast as I once was! I just enjoy the bends these days and i know the RR can do those!
I managed to throw myself off my K3 and it woke me up a little and calmed me down some before I got the K5 so I'm just looking forward to enjoying a new bike now I've decided to get the RR.

    Sweet ride though Graeme!

Haha, you're not wrong! I want to get a set of braided lines (I know Mike at BDS does these as he sorted out my K5), carbon can cover, cut back under tray (not sure which one to get but I like the slimmed down race bike look with narrow light), tail tidy, maybe an RCS master and to fit my QS. That'll do for starters! :)

Braided lines make a big difference but a m/c will improve it 10 fold,

Or if your posh like blackness go all out with some
M4's and you will have untold stopping power
