Cheers all. I live in Maesteg fella which is just outside Bridgend. About 60 miles from the bridge I suppose.
You'll have to let me know when you're down my way next, maybe meet up for a coffee if its biking weather. I don't do rain!
Cheers all. Beckers, yeah I was mate, I went to Gixerboys after that, I use the same username in all the forums. Just sold the K5 and laid down a deposit on a 1000rr so it seemed the logical next step.
Welcome to the forum, you're going to enjoy the blade. I had mine for over 3 years and enjoyed every minute of it, just fancied a change this time round.
Bike got here this morning, been out already and just got in. I love it, so light and flickable and even nicer than my K5 to ride. I did notice the on/off nature of the throttle when crawling through traffic but it's not too intrusive. Far better than the fuelling of the earlier injected biked. Brimmed the tank from empty for £15 odds, clutch is very light after the K5, gearbox is so sweet it's effortless and very light with a bit more of a pronounced clunk when you select first at a standstill. The only thing worthy of a mention is when the clutch in being used, if it gets pulled right in to the bars there is no issue but if I just pull it in quick and snick a gear I can feel a click through the lever. Not sure what that is. I'll keep an eye on it. Bike has done 10453 miles and has Honda services at 350, 4800, 6800, 7777, 9080, 10150 (12k service) all at Honda and a oil and filter service at 10450 before it was delivered. It has a brand new chain and a pair of new Qualifier 209s on it. All in all I am a very happy chappy and I'm off up the garage now to strip it down so I can get the wheels powder coated in anthracite with the footrest hangers and shift linkage powder coated gloss black and the rear spring coated in a nice bright red. What's the opinion of the Honda faithfuls on here, including my ideas for the powder coat colours? Anthracite for the wheels ok?
Welcome m8, i had three R1's before i made the jump to a blade. As you said so light & flickable. Especially compaired to my 10 R1. That had a serious weight issue.
Cheers fella, check out my new bike, new project thread in the general discussion forum. Not far off now.
