A good early blast over the Wolds, then finally got around to making the modified mount for my SatNav and ripping out the old original garmin one.

For some obscure reason Garmin hardwired the mount, and I wanted to be able to plug and play. The OEM also has a load of connectors that I don't use and so now it is a simple power lead connecting via an SAE plug I can use for a USB adaptor when I want to use the power to charge my phone.

Fitted some Oxford Nightrider rear indicators. Felt the oem ones a little chunky on the 2015. I used the resistors that came with them for now and will probably change to a relay when I can be arsed to removed half the front end to get to it.

I’ve been on a bit of a mission to improve the luggage carrying capacity of my cbr.
A tank bag seemed the next logical step and a friend recommended a givi tank lock bag.
Which seemed ideal until I saw the price of the bags themselves.
A quick shop online saw these delivered -

A givi tank lock system including the tank ring, adapter and flange.

The tank ring was a quick, simple fit -

And my redundant magnetic tank bag was given a new lease of life -

Hopefully the wife won’t notice that another one of her chopping boards has gone missing -

The tank bag fits perfectly and will be a good place for those essential items -

If this works as well as I hope it will, I might treat myself to a proper givi tank lock bag - got to make some effort at keeping up appearances.

Nothing really "up with the brakes" as such, they just don't have the same bite as the Ape did. About to pull the trigger on Hel braided hoses all round and Hel master cylinders both sides I think.

Got the Translogic Q/S delivered today :D

As for price......errrrrmmm.......I am right in thinking the finance director won't have access to this forum right?

    Q/S £466 and Hel kit £686

    Ouch.
You said “master cylinder” did you get one of those also or did you mean callipers?

If that price is for 2 callipers and all the lines it’s not too bad for what you’re getting.

Quickshifters seem quite expensive for what they are but wadda I know.

Master cylinder is the whole lever and housing assembly that clamps onto the bars, not the reservoir or callipers.

Brake and clutch master cylinders with folding levers and all brake and clutch hoses.

The Q/S and braking performance would be the two things I would miss from the Ape.

O I get it now. You got masters for both brake and clutch and new lines. That does seem a bit expensive.
I've never had a quickshifter. People say once you've had one you won't go back...

She passed her mot no advisories today. So went for a 150 mile blast around Surrey and Sussex.

    Absolute peach of a machine

Had the blade at Snetterton yesterday for my first ever trackday and holy moses do I now see what these bikes are meant for. Had it three years now and and only now am I seeing what it can do :D
Amazing fun, though quite a few heroes seemed to run out of talent early on in the day... few red flags in the morning. Last two sessions were the dream as people started to head off home and the track was quiet.

Replaced fork seals. Surprised they only lasted 15000 miles. Quite a difference with fresh oil, so a worthwhile exercise.

Your correct about the last 2 sessions, they are normally the best ones.

The visor on my trustee Shark Vision R broke last week and ordered a replacement as you do from visorshop. But then I got to thinking - I’ve had a bottom skirt piece (the round bottom part of the lining) on back order for a bit with them as well. The helmet is 8 years old and as comfy as it is decided on s change. Visorshop cancelled both orders so £90 towards a new lid straight away.

Adamant I wanted one with an internal sun visor I looked at HJC, Shoei, X lite, Scorpion all sorts and had a trying on session of them all. Settled on the HJC RPHA 70 and thought if I could get a decent deal I might stretch to the all carbon one. But in my trawling of the internet I turned up this and it was too good a bargain to pass up. 40% off and looks ace (FYI - the bit that looks grey is black it’s just the way the photo has come out)

Fitted the intercom and been out all afternoon. Very comfy, quieter than the shark and a lot more stable at speed. Gets my vote
