    Guys,

As title can anyone tell me what this pipe does. I know it goes up underneath the tank and connects to the gubbins under there.

Reason i ask is i just started the bike up and ran it up to temp (was a pig to start, isnt normaly) and there was fluid coming out of this pipe. It was odourless and tastless so presume it was water, condensation maybe, but why?

Bike is 06. Pipe is just by the side stand. Fuel has been in since September and was last started, albeit breifly, on Tuesday.

Any help would be great. :)

I think that's the fuel overflow pipe.

I'm sure Arthur will be along soon to correct me if I'm wrong :)

+1 ^^ . Condensation accumalates anywhere, the air up the tube is slightly warmer than the air surrounding it.

Fuel breather pipe and overflow pipe both exit through that 'loop'. That one looks like the breather pipe. It might have a pull apart section about 3-4 inches further up to disconnect when removing the tank.
Then again, I'm probably talking bollocks:rolleyes:

    Thanks Lads.

Just kicked it up again and it seems to have stopped, so guess it must of been water.

    I can rest easy now!

It's common that when people lift the tank the drain gets pinched then water that norm drains down the small hole just inside the filler cap now overflows and lets water enter into the tank from rain or washing..
