Polished the swirl marks out of my tank, because my jacket rubs on it. then went for a ride over to the Essex MC show, quite small but big safety presence then i found this.... Lovely paint job very skilful........not sure on bike tho....too may wheels!
Over the weekend I had a ride with my lad, stopped at B&Q for a bacon roll Then yesterday a group of us went for a run to Brighton, sat at a seafront cafe with cod and chips all round. Out of nine who were out two copped holes in their rads- get those guards on dudes!
Did a Fathers' Day climbing session with my 11 year old son today at his climbing club. Feck me! My arms don't work now...
Packed a suitcase for Brno this weekend. Only one sleep "and I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again" la la la... (well Monday actually, but I couldn't resist the tune).
Landed in Brno and went see some of the Moto GP testing. Some of you may have seen this before, but its the Honda clothing shop. It was closed today I'm guessing that this is where they stack the used tyres Random showing of the new M4
Saturday qualifying (Right to left, the first left hander is where Rossi went off in the practice session)
Finally got out of yesterday’s hangover induced ‘not quite in this world bubble of general illness’. Friday was the unofficial retirement party of one of my longest industry contacts who over the last thirty years has become a firm friend. The party started at two but I didn’t arrive till five to discover people where already falling around in the beer garden. We took over the whole pub, The Charles Holden in Colliers Wood for a private party. What a venue. The staff where incredible and very tolerant of the inevitable free bar antics. A singer had been booked for the very reason that he was crap and cheap, I just hope the poor bugger manages to remove all the peanuts! Life size cardboard models of famous people including Arnie, Lewis Hamilton, and sumo wrestlers had been super imposed with said friends head and put up around the pub. Buses had also been fitted with advert boards showing him where parked outside. Watch out for them if you are in London over the next few weeks as I was told they aren’t going to be removed anytime soon. A few of us then got a cab back into town and went to china town for food and swill even more alcohol. As expected yesterday was not a pleasant experience. We have to do it all over again on Thursday evening but this time it will be a bit more subdued as it’s the official, suit and boot corporate sit down dinner at Epsom Racecourse. Good help my liver….and what little sanity I have left. Sometimes the old adage “work hard, play hard” is harder work then you might think.
That could be an age thing as you spend your youth boasting how you can down 10 pints, even though its a lie, and then the rest of your adult like saying how you can't down 10 pints lie you used to. The good old days ehh!
More Hondas + todays Moto 2 race (loving the white one). Parade lap after the race The winner pillioned the race mascot, which was a guy in a gimp suit know as the Spider.
Todays Moto GP race at Brno. No crashes where i was viewing from today, but a great viewing area from before the finish straight. Rossi in 6th place (5th bike back in the pic) Rossi picking off another one
watched the GP, always good fun then got my bike back into road trim in the hope of a Bank Holiday ride out? before my next track day in September
