When doing the rear brake and pads on the 929 yesterday I noticed play in he rear wheel, so looks like he rear bearings need replacing.

Is it worh getting the OEM bearings from Honda (would want to change the dust seals at the same time) or are there more cost effective options such as a specialist bearing shop?

    Cheers

I just did mine. I just found a local bearing stockist. These guys in fact. Just give them the bearing numbers you need and they'll send you out what you need. I presume your town has a stockist.

Cheers mate, yeah there's a bearing place reasonably local to me.

Did they do the seals as well? Sorry to be thick, bearing number, is that the OEM part number or size?

    Hi Dave
I have them on mine there brill just a crappy tread pattern but great in the wet and lots of miles to be got out of them good luck with the seal
Mine is in bits at the mo new pads full service new brake lines only crapper was I knocked the pressure washer over fell on the bike now I have a nice big scratch in the middle of the lower fairing its going to have a decal over it as I don't think a painter would match colour so not risking it
Just another Hrc won't hurt lol

Not good news about the scratch Gaz, that bike I mint as well. Like you say another sticker won't notice.

Like you I really like the pilot 3's, second rear on the 929 now. Got it fitted today at Watlin's.

Good news is I got the bearing and dust cover for 20 quid, sks bearings which I'm told are good. The sprocket bearing seems ok, so haven't bothered replacing that.

The bad news is I had to leave the bearings in for Watlins to balance the tyre, dudes were kind enough to lend me some tools to get them out once they finished but managed to a) wack my thumb with a hammer, blood pissing everywhere and b) muller the dust cover and leave it at Watlins. So guessed the size of the cover, guessed wrong on the inside diameter as took everything barring the spacer!

    Oh well, shite happens
