Good point. always remove bearings before powder coating wheels and always replace with new after. Take a lot of care to ensure that replacement bearings are not Chinese or Indian. OEM usually the best.
Get the number off the side of the bearing then phone your friendly local bearing dealer. But I agree try to make sure bearings are not from the east. Back in my day I never bought OEM bearings as they would be on back order and never turn up. If I remember correctly Timkin bearings were good stuff.
Mmmmmm that has made me think. Only really did some majorly hard breaking once last year, towards the end of the year, and got quite a bit of shake/vibration through the bars. Will get the bearings checked* when I get some new tyres, at the time I thought it might be the disc starting to warp but now am not so certain. *Yes my trust in my mechanical abilities has gone that low.
