Which is the one to go for, the standard HA-1008, or the HA-1008R race version.

Does anyone know what the difference is ?, and what does "Race Specific" really mean on an air filter ?

It to do with the size of the spacing between filter layers, race will let more air in but also more crap unfortunately

I have the race version in my bike (on road), they use less layers of fabric in the race version over the street 3 layers as opposed to 5 or something like that ... either will be ok :)

Just for info I have had both pipercross and k and n tested on dyno and both made very little difference over std .5 bhp at best, I dont think I will bother changing the filter again in the future the std seems to be very good.
