Road Racing 2012: Who rides where - updated 08/02/2012 Martin, Hutchinson, McGuinness and Cummins are all confirmed for TT2012 After a relatively quiet December, a flurry of activity since the New Year has seen the majority of road racing riders and teams announce their plans for the forthcoming season. Indeed, with the exception of Michael Dunlop, all of the potential race winners now find themselves with everything in place but the Ballymoney rider is expected to be in a position to reveal all very soon. With Keith Amor’s retirement due to injury, all of the factory teams now have their riders signed up with Honda’s recent announcement seeing John McGuinness, Simon Andrews, Cameron Donald and Gary Johnson all confirmed at their relative homes of the TT legends, Wilson Craig and Padgett’s teams. Meanwhile, whilst Michael Rutter has been confirmed for BSB with MSS Colchester Kawasaki his participation at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT is still up in the air but except to see the Midlands rider line up in both – and possibly also in the Super Twin race at the latter. Splitlath Aprilia have also expressed their desire to compete at the TT and with their BSB team now confirmed, they could now turn their attentions to completing their road race line-up. Riders for the World Performance Racing MV Agusta team are also currently unknown. Some of the privateer squads are still working hard to finalise everything with the likes of Paul Shoesmith’s Ice Valley team once such team whilst riders still searching for a berth include Mark Miller, David Johnson, Luis Carriera and Hudson Kennaugh. Scots rider Mark Buckley is another yet to reveal his plans for 2012 with comebacks on the cards for Carl Rennie and James McBride. The Honda TT Legends team is set to miss this year's Ulster Grand Prix because of a date clash with a round of the World Endurance Championship. Up to four top road racers could be absent for the Dundrod event in August because of the event at Oschersleben. John McGuinness, Gary Johnson, Cameron Donald and Simon Andrews were all named as riders for the Honda team last week. McGuinness and Keith Amor missed last year's North West 200 because of a similar World Endurance date clash. Ulster Grand Prix clerk-of-the-course Noel Johnston remains hopeful that one of the top riders may be able to race at the 90th anniversary of the famous races. "We had to finalise our date for this year at an early stage and it's disappointing that this clash has arisen and the Honda team will not be able to take part," said Johnston. "Hopefully Honda will just require the services of three riders at the event, and one may be able to race at Dundrod
Yes mate Michael has signed for mcadoo racing......but I think only for the internationals and major road races.........heard on the grape vine that he has purchased his own gsxr 1000 (2011 bike) from TAS and plans to race it if mcadoo doesn't release bikes for local races. Also heard that TAS are following him very closely for possible ride in the future......think William heads to Spain soon for some testing with the Wilson Craig bikes soon.......could you imagine the dunlops on one race team......also think Sam Dunlop will race this year after injury...........
Ah he is with mcadoo, good stuff. Oh yeh both dunlop brothers in any team would be awesome. Michael linked too TAS now that could be interesting!
Have just heard the Michael will make his sidecar debut this year at S/Boro's Ian Wtson Spring Cup. More details later
