So i bought my house 3 years ago now. Guy was in his 90s and the house is 118 years old. Ive done loads re wired (father in law a spark sh he checked and signed off ) and plumbed moved radiators added more new bathrooms and kitchen leveld floors plastered everyroom. (I got lads in to do plastering ) removed gas fires refitted open fires ect . Ive now finaly got round to the workshop. I have a double garage round the back with garden crap and kids bikes in ect and the workshop on the side of the house. It has an office and a loo/kitchen in it and is just over 550 square feet. I put new windows in when i did house except these are toughened security ones. A roller door on the front and pvc door to match house into the office. Im finaly getting round to kitting it out . Got paint for walls and floor and i need to sort more lights and sockets . This weekend i made a start on the benches using old kitchen units and fresh worktops left over from a friends new kitchen.
Ali splashbacks on wall between worktop and cuboards liberated from a skip outside a halifax that was getting renovated.
Wow that's got a high ceiling! Looks like you could get a storage floor in if needed! Looking forward to seeing the renovation as it goes on
Yeah its got storage over the office. I ll take some pictures of the rest of it tonight. Looking into heating options but its prob going to be a couple of gas heaters this year.
I am in awe. What a great project to work on. I can visualise the completed workshop as a great weekend haven.
I know im lucky to have such a space and its only due to both my parents passing but i am enjoying getting it done. Ive have had tiny sheds to work in before or just outside using garden table umbrela when it rained .im planning on another bench for pillar drill and vice ect . Then a space to weld . Kitchen/loo area needs doing but ive bought a fresh bog to go in and a water heater as its only a cold feed. Letf over laminate from dinning room and kitchen will redo office floor.
Huh? You're going to have a 'hot water' loo? Going to have the bidet plumbed in for a bit of serious 'parts' washing!! (Sorry, couldn't help myself)
No not got the space for bidet. Just hot water for sink. Shower will be electric so that will work fine from cold feed.
Now that's going to be one serious man cave, no end of possibilities for bike and gear/equipment store lucky guy.
Yeah a bench is on the wish list. I have a wooden one i made when i had my kr1 i had my r6 on it and it was ok but blade too big i think . I may make a metal bench one day i have a spare trolly jack .
my drum kit is going in and if i can fit it all in i want a treadmill and weight bench. I hate the gym the music and people if im honest but need to exercise
