Hi all, does anyone know if a honda hugger off a 2012 fireblade would fit my 2009 fireblade? there's one on eBay I was thinking about having a bid on. Thanks in advance for any help offered. Andy B
I have a 2012 hugger on my 2008 bike Andy , so yes Whether or not you could fit it is another matter! 2012 has a larger gap for the newer shock - so prob. best you also ask Santa for a new 2012 shock to go with it...
Cheers Al. I mess up once and I'll never forget it will I lol. Do you have the larger shock fitted too?
You're welcome Andy! Yes, I got a new shock back in 2012 from Padgetts, best upgrade you can do for the money. I'm tempted to get another if I see one turn up at decent money as mine done a few miles and its almost cheaper to just replace the whole thing than service the existing one (Only downside is I have to pay somebody to fit as don't have the tools etc. to do it)
I seen one for sale on the forum in the last couple of weeks, £180 iirc. I think it was someone breaking a bike. Might be worth you taking a look in the FS section. I've just bought a hugger but it's not the one for the bigger shock after me asking lol. I'm going to get it sprayed repsol blue. Thanks for the info Al. Andy B
I'm sorted now Rich, I've got one off rosier1uk for £60 which I'm going to get painted repsol blue. Have you ever used j&s racepaint, restone recommended them for decals but would like to know if they're rated as painters? Andy B
I put a 2013 Showa shock on my 08 blade. Fantastic upgrade. I had cut a rectangular section in the OEM red hugger to accommadate the larger shock.
Oh, great news, just got a Genuine Honda Racing carbon Hugger and was thinking of the 2013 later shock, I take they won't be compatible ? Or would a Ohlins TTX shock be better match ? Sorry for jumping in, just thought while on the same subject.
This is what it looks like. Don't know what a TTX shock looks like. Plus I only paid £130 for the Showa one.
